Boom's 68 fastback

Decided to touch up the stock decklid and end caps. Wanted to get the Shelby ones, but I'm focusing on getting the car running before spending too much more money on other areas. The decklid isn't perfect but it looks better now that it blends in a bit more. Also test fit all the new trim bits.

I have a brand new dynacorn valance with cutouts, but I've been leaning towards side exit exhaust so I pulled the stock old valance from the coupe out of storage. I didn't have any primer left so I left it Acapulco blue for now.

Got my steering wheel in today. This is the 14" Corso Feroce wheel, its made by Scott Drake. Please excuse how dirty the car is. Been testing out a few things.

Test fit the new intake, its tight everywhere but it fits. Didn't even need the fancy distributor Edelbrock says you need.

Finally got my injector harness in. Comes from Holley looking like the left side, little rearranging and it looks like the right side. Much cleaner.

Waiting on some vibration mounts (small rubber mounts/spacers) so I can install the ECU. I'm planning to install it on the passenger kick panel.

Thanks! Just waiting on a new intake gasket and I can install the new intake. I pulled the distributor off, so it'll be must easier getting it on now. I really want to get the Holley Dual sync distributor, it allows me to run fully timed sequential EFI instead of batch or paired firing.

Got the vibration mounts in today! Finally able to mount the ECU and check whats needed to run the wiring. The power wires were easy, I was able to route them through the door sill and to the trunk without issue. I'm unsure about the main wiring since I don't have a heater/airbox in the car currently. I plan to run either the Vintage Air or the Old Air set-up. I should be good to go either one since the wiring has a good amount of slack.

Next is to install the new intake assembly. I need to get some thinner and a razor blade to go over the mounting surfaces again though. Want to try and not have any issues down the road and have to pull the intake back off. I got the nice gasket that has the steel core so it won't blow out.

Guys like you are the reason my car will never be done. Always temping me with the latest new stuff.

Kidding. Relax, its running and staying that way. For a while. Probably. o_O

Got the new intake installed and bolted on. Plugged in all the various sensors, made a simple bracket for the MAP sensor. I started planning ahead so I cut templates for various size air cleaners so I could see what fits. I really need to get the new distributor since that may cause an issue with the air cleaner.
I think I have everything figured out and its all going to work, except for one part. The Monte Carlo bar. I wanted to run the Global West one, but I don't think that's going to be possible. I laid some paint tape over approximately where the Monte Carlo bar needs to go.

I don't know of any bar off the top of my head that will fit. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion Jim! I'll see if I can't check that Monte carol bar out.

I sold my MSD distributor (sadly, I liked it but wasn't good for the current build) and got my shiny new Holley Dual Sync in. This distributor has built in cam and crank sensors which allow me to run fully timed sequential injection instead of just batch fired.

You'd think that a company like Holley would have standards across the board, nope. My MSD came packaged extremely well. The Holley....not so much.

I honestly wasn't sure if this distributor would fit with my Super Vic intake. Nobody seemed to have a definite answer. All Holley could give me was the overall measurements. Thankfully it seems to fit just fine!

That's looks like a pretty small diameter dizzy. My Pertronix just clears the Chinese water fitting. Does this one?

See the third picture with the "CHINA" letters, that's the water fitting I'm currently using. I Just waiting on the air cleaner and then everything should clear from then on. These things have built in LEDS to help you set the timing, I can't wait, sounds super simple.
