Boom's 68 Coupe daily driver

Good afternoon everyone.

Figured I'd take a break from working on the coupe to show my pain/progress. Some of you may have seen my other thread about my fastback build. I've had the coupe for about 6-7 years now. It was a bone stock C-code 289/C4, manual drum all around. Now it's a 302/T5 fuel injected, 4 wheel disc brake daily driver.

I love this car, I kind of put it on the back burner for awhile once I got the fastback. It needs some TLC, so I do small things to fix it up here and there. I really need to get a fresh paint job, but it needs some body work and a new hood before that.

This weekend I decided to fix a small rust spot on the driver's floorboard. After a few minutes it was clear I needed a drink.

This was a nice trip down memory lane. I'll fill in the gaps as I go. Feel free to ask any questions, I have down alot to this car.

I already had a half pan for this so that's what I'm going to put in for now. It is going to eventually need a new seat pan and a bit of floor patches here and there. I cleaned and coated the rear seat area with POR 15 a few weeks ago.

Sad day, I had to let the coupe go. It was getting to be too hard to try and do the repairs on the coupe while getting the fastback running. I found a guy way out in Palacius(? by Houston?) that wanted to fix it up and give it to his son for graduation.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. On the other hand, the fastback is going to be awesome so not a bad trade off.

Sorry to hear it. Im missing my 67 coupe so much its not funny. Ive been looking to buy a coupe so i have something to drive and keep me patient on the FB

Thanks guys, I got a deal on a super clean car I've always wanted to replace it for daily driver duties.

I have let many go that I wish I could have kept, but my 67 coupe will go to the grave with me!

I really hated having to let it go, but I would have hated seeing it deteriorate any further. My new daily is another awesome car (in my opinion) but it does need some work to be super reliable as a daily in Texas.

I don't plan on ever letting the fastback go. I've spent so many nights working on it trying to get it back to a drivable condition.

That is what I was facing a couple years ago. Got down to just one Mustang and the 59 F100. It was sad but it beats the stress of not having the time for the upkeep and projects. I have also passed on a couple of great deals since then but when I retire, all constraints will be off.
