Bolt spacing on shifter handle

I am trying to replace a damaged 4 speed shifter handle on a '68 big block car. The reproduction which is "Made in the USA", and sold by Drake has the mounting holes 3/16" too close to fit the shifter controller. The correct dimension between holes (center to center) is 2" with the repro being 1-13/16" Did the car come with the wrong shifter or is the repro incorrect for this car? FWIW the trans is "numbers matching".

Jeff, I have my 67, but it did bolt up fine. Let me know if you want me to check tonight after work.

Justin:

The '67 and '68 are different and apparently there is only one actual manufacturer so I've got to adapt the repro or go aftermarket............

Apparently the saddle for the control box is 1-7/8 inch for a 1967 or early 1968 and 2 inch for the late 68. The saddle is replaceable.
