So back in January I thought I'd get new batteries for the Airstream before the Trailer Trash tour in April. Fine. Ordered online and got them and installed. Trip went fine. Trailer back into storage as usual. Power on with solar to provide slow power as it has for last 7 years. Did our trip to Texas to babysit for our 1.5 year old grandson for 3 weeks. Took the C7. While there the battery started acting up. Went and got a new one and I installed it. Rest of trip fine. 5 weeks in all. Car is fine. Needed to get a new toilet for the trailer (had a leak that returned during our April trip) so ordered one up. Brushed two coats of wood sealer on my redwood deck over a couple days. Went to pick up trailer at storage and no power. Couldn't raise the tongue up to hook up. Took out the so called new batteries and got them charged. Not sure of why they drained but that will be another episode. While waiting was going to local Cars-N-Coffee on Sunday. Always have the '67 on trickle charge. Get in and nothing. Dead battery. Order a new one. Decided to take the BMW motorcycle out for a spin on Thursday. While riding my right foot is slipping on the peg. Stop and see oil dripping from bottom of under fairing. Head home and take fairings off. Looks like seepage from front of oil pan gasket. Tighten bolts I could reach. Others are too close to exhaust headers and I would need to take full exhaust off. Start engine. Let sit for a while. No oil dripping. Let it cool and repeat. No oil dripping. Friday I take it out sans fairings. Check... no oil dripping. Put fairings back on and bike back in shed then notice two foam fillers that I did NOT put back under the fairing. Duhooo. That will be a fix for another day. Get the trailer batteries back, they took a charge and are good (deep cycle AGMs). Put them in the trailer and brought the trailer home. Spent the day installing 4 electric brake systems on the trailer in the street. Tomorrow I install the toilet and check plumbing for trip in September (National Air Races in Roswell NM). After that install battery in '67 and then get the bike back out to put those foam inserts back on (provide support to sides). By then it will be time to change oil in the C8.
