If your salary was based on people buying your work, would you post it for all to see for free on the internet? The ad revenue of an internet site does not make up for lost publication sales. Are you willing to pay a subscription fee to see something like a MM issue on the web? Most people aren't given the available amount of free material out there."janschutz" said:I am not so sure it is bad news for the hobby. I feel bad for the folks that lost their job (been there). but the internet has been great news for the hobby.
I also feel that the printed media (in general) has been too slow at embracing the internet. Even when they do post articles on the internet, they only post a fraction of the pictures required so that I feel confident that I can do it also. They treat the internet like a magazine article that cost per page to publish.

I believe he'll do well. He has the knowledge, interest, passion, connections to bring even more to our hobby than when he was previously somewhat restricted.
I look forward to hearing even more from Jim as a free-lancer!

Jim has always helped people in the hobby in any way that he can, often to the detriment of his own car projects. He's a guy who can't say no to anyone. He has a true love for this hobby and has been a force in it for many years.
