B.J. Pricing

Yeah, and wait until tonight when there all drunk, I expect some crazy prices. So far I'd think the "Stang" price has been up a bit and on the flip the chevy price is down. Also it looks like the modern modified cars are bring strong money. Mid, do you go to the one down your way? :beer

Naw...it's over 600 miles away from me. I have been to the Scottsdale show twice, though.

OK, who here's the sap that bought the Batmobile for 4.2 mill??

Worth the trip? It's on my bucket list.................

Just got home from BJ Scottsdale. I have been many times, and yes it's worth going to check it off your list. It has been referred to as a spectacle, and it is. You can see stuff collected there that you will never see any place else... cars, stuff, and the people. If you can, get a bidders credential. Gives you access to more than the general admission tickets and over the week doesn't really cost much more.

I thought I saw a few Boss 302's going across for around $65k. I thought they got better money than that.
Still outta range for me in either case, but it'd be nice to know if I ever bought one I could get out of it for about the same money.

There was a reason several Bosses and Shelbys seemed to sell too low--they were not good cars! I was standing right at the end of the ramp that they came down and saw a lot of flaws on them. One almost smoked us out as it was driven out because it was burning oil so badly. The prices were good for what they were getting.

Good info Laurie! You just can't see that on the TV.

Kinda what I figured. There was a Yellow 69 Mach 1 SCJ that looked great from the stage shot but when they got close you could see things like the flat black on the hood was not consistent and there was obvious shotty body work on the lower quarters where the valance met the quarter. That car still brought decent money though. In the 70s I think.

There was one on late Sunday afternoon that went in the mid 50's. I sure it looked better on TV than it was.

Hey, I've seen that thing, it was garaged in Bristol. Did you say 4.2 MILLION????

They built two cars for the studio to use just for tours and shows, but the #1 "Star car" was usually in the Barris private collection. Did you get to see the car side interview with Barris during the TV broadcast, kind neat. This #1 car was the only one build from the concept car, the others were copies used for stunts, national shows etc..

Looks like prices are recovering somewhat. I sold my 69 Corvette L36 427 coupe a year ago August at the Russo and Steele auction in Monterey for $30K. My car had a documentable 77K miles and was untampered. It was the classic Le Mans Blue with a black interior and it took a top flight award at the National Corvette Restorer's Society judging. In any event, I watched the same type car in silver and black, with no documentation and some expressed doubt if it was an original big block car, go for $45K on Mecum about two weeks ago. Looks like the lawyers and dentists are flush again.

Several Boss 302 cars went Sunday later in the day, and I gotta say they went cheaper than I thought. One new fresh restoration just cracked 50K and it really had no excuse to go that low.
