Award Winning Golfer & MBB III

As you are no doubt aware, this weekend marked the official 3rd Myrtle Beach Blast. To say it was a good time would be an understatement. Ron, as always, put on another perfect weekend, and obviously has an in with some very powerful higher-up, because the weather could not have been better. Despite Myrtle Beach seeing torrential rains, and lot's of localized flooding this past week, this weekend was cool and breezy and the sun was out with little cloud cover. Even Ron's yard was pretty dry, especially compared to some of the yards I saw at his neighbors', leading me to believe that the night before the party, when everyone else was out for night 1 at The Blarney Stone (which I missed) Ron had an industrial NASCAR style track dryer running non stop on his grass. Good job, Ron!!

Seriouly, it couldn't have been a better weekend, and Ron and his wife Brenda put on a great pig pickin', and anyone who has the means really should consider coming for MBB 4 (and all future MBBs, for the record)

As you may or may not know, the festivities traditionally start off with a couple rounds of Mini Golf. Various awards are granted to the various winners. Once again, for the third year in a row, Scott (who I don't believe is a StanFixer) won, leaving many of us (Dave) pretty well ticked off. Duane put in a serious effort, and was only 2 strokes away from Scott's performance, but I hope he'll take on this challenge to train for next year, and finally put that guy DOWN!

Personally, as you probably know, I'm an accomplished golfer. After spending almost no time, and little talent on the ol' links, I impressed all with my lack of talent, and complete and total lack of dedication. This is my first year winning this coveted prize, but I can promise that following the next year of absolute neglect, and complete lack of practice, that NONE will claim this prize from me next year.

Here is my commemorative plaque:

Which I have hung in a place of distinction in my garage:

It was just fabulous, and I can't wait to see everyone again next year. Maybe just MAYBE my car will be running by then. Hey, a fellow can dream, right?

Thanks for the kind words Steve. It was great seeing you again this year. I'm glad you were able to change your plans to get here. Enjoy your award, it was certainly well deserved! :lol Looking forward to next year already.

Mark, the owl pictures and video are coming!

Soooo, what's the story with the Owl?

The answer is in the MBBIII thread Ron started...but let's just say that the Owl's effect on Duane was unfortunately a dud. Duane had his radar up KNOWING he was gonna be the victim of something...But fortunately for everyone (but the owl) the giant explosive Duane shoved up that owl's butt was NOT a dud, and we all got one hell of a show. I think blowing up decoys should be an official tradition of the celebration. Thinking about bringing a decoy fawn next year for Duane to blow it's head up.

Mini-golf and Scott

I've given this a lot of thought and I've already formulated a plan to ensure that Scott DOES NOT win again during MBBIV. He's obviously hiding from us the fact that he's a former nationally ranked miniature golfer and as such we need to handicap him. Upon purchasing the mini-golf ticket, you then choose an a club sized for your stature. Next year, Scott will be using one of those 14" long little plastic golf clubs designed for toddlers. If after the first 18 holes he still has a competetive score, I'm going to poke him in both eyes ala the three stooges. There's NO WAY he'll win again!

ROFL! I love a good plan!
