About 3 months ago I put in the windshield, then set the dash pad in place. I quickly figured out that my dark green dash pad and parchment colored dash didn't work together at the defroster ducts. I also needed to trim in the dash pad so I pulled the windshield (hadn't set it yet with bedding and glazing compound) and trimmed the dash pad to fit. I blasted the dash trim pieces that fit at the windshield and ordered some green paint to match the dash pad to use for those trim pieces and to cut in the openings for the defrost ducts (you can see about 3/8-1/2" of dash metal through the dash pad).
So this morning I'm feeling a bit of momentum after yesterday and keep moving. I reinstall the windshield, paint the trim pieces, and install the dash pad. As I'm installing the trim pieces (which is a pain to get the screws to line up), I notice I can still see parchment dash through the defrost holes.
#$%&!
I forgot to paint the defrost duct holes.

There's no real way to paint that good with the windshield installed, not to mention the masking involved is like 10 times more versus having the windshield removed.
Maybe I better relax for a little bit before yanking the windshield again. And I was just about to cut the nozzle on a fresh tube of bedding and glazing compound when I saw the dash pad sitting there and thought "well, that's a quick and easy install, I'll do that first." Thank God for that or I'd have a real mess on my hands.
This smiley fits perfect here too... :shtf
Maybe I could have eliminated the problem by filling in the defrost holes with :nick
