Any A/C experts?

Ive got a vac pump for bleeding the brake fluid that hooks up to my air compressor. I was able to get the A/C compressor to kick in after adding more 134, got it up to 25 while running on the low side, but wouldn't hold there. Soon as I shut the valve it started to drop. Picked up a can with the dye, but not going to put that in until I get a UV light. My fng JOB won't leave me alone so I can work on my car! Stupid job.. Is the can supposed to completely empty out? Stopped rising the gauge, but still can feel some in there. FUN! I love learning how to do new stuff
 
You should only put Freon in thru the low side. With compressor running, it should suck most in. I have stuck the can into hot water while still connected to drive rest of Freon out.

Low side yes sir. How long will the dye stay visible with UV? Can I put it in now and check it later today after I get the light?
 
If your system is too low on freon for the compressor to kick on, don't you have to bypass the switch to turn it on?
 
Replaced a couple of lines on my wife’s car and was looking for any additional tips.

Thought this guy did a nice job explaining the process.

134 at 72* should be close to 74 lbs with the system off. Off is let it set long enough for everything to stabilize pressure and temp.
At this point both high and low side should read the same. again system off and stabilized.
from my pressure temp chart
76=80
80=86
84=93
88=100
92=108
r12 pressures are slightly lower 1234yf slightly higher

Could you share the chart that you referenced?

Still learning.

I did run across this chart but was not sure how to use it while compressor is in operation.
