That is my planned route if we go north...which I think we will.
 
Question ... are any wives coming? We've decided that Tracey will come, too, and we're just going to bring the Honda. I'll hitch a ride with someone for the cruise, and Tracey may or may not also. This will also allow me to cut out early, if I start draggin' my butt.

So just an FYI, that Mrs. WaldoPro will be in attendance, so I'm probably going to have to stay away from all the women that weekend.

Tracey won't be alone. Jennifer and I will be coming also, only if my job will give me Friday and Saturday off. Hopefully I will get an answer Wednesday.

OK, I recently read on a bathroom wall that you guys were going to be crying too damn much due to boredom and loneliness while attending this show so..... as done so many times before, Barb and I have chosen to attend to help lift the moral of the troops. Just booked a room at Spring Hill and did the online registration. Spending Friday night. Coming home Sat after the show.

Perhaps in a few days we can discuss our plans for the weekend and I'll provide some more detailed info. Fortunately my house, the show site, downtown cruise, the hotel, and Hwy 99 are all pretty close together.

Frday afternoon/evening:
1) Do the cruise from 7pm-8pm; staging at 6 pm.
2) Alternatively, if you all are burned out from driving, instead of cruising, we could set up out chairs on the sidewalk, and watch the cruise.

Afterwords some options are:
1) Very casual BBQ or pizza/ drinks at my house. Swim, shoot pool..etc.
2) Attend an after-cruise show and shine at a nearby diner with a large safe parking lot. This is a new event, so I can't comment on the size of the crowd or dinner accommodations.
3) Book a restaurant. There is a good Mexican place within staggering distance of the hotel or an Italian place (with a large parking lot) about 10 minutes away from the cruise site and hotel. An Outback is also nearby

Saturday
Meet at my house for coffee/donuts and drive to the show. Photo Op?

BTW, we could probably use 1-2 portable canopies for the show.
 
I'd rather not have to worry about booking a restaurant and all that, so I'd make that my 3rd choice. 2nd choice would be the cruise-in, but hard to say if that will be a hassle. 1st choice is BBQ at your house. I'm happy to bring some food to grille. Since I'm driving straight down there, it should stay fresh enough in the cooler.

Will we have to move this thread over to SFKitchen? :beat

Results of the BBQ, assuming the quality of the foods and drinks is up to par, ahem,,,, should show up in the kitchen.

I agree that a BBQ sounds way more fun though it's always a major undertaking for those who host it. As long as we all seriously pitch in food and drink wise, it would help reduce the amount of work for the host.
 
I would be more than happy to pitch in Food, Drink, Money and/or Time for the BBQ. I also agree that this sounds a lot more fun. I only feel bad that I seem to have almost doubled the crowd now at John's place *LOL*
 
OK, unless there's any other input, we'll do the BBQ at my place. It'll be a casually fun time and no hassle for me to host. I've got tables, chairs, utensils, ...etc.

If you all BYOB, I'll set up the ice/ice chests. I got plenty of them. Perhaps we can load them up before the cruise. They'll cool down by the time we get back. I will have plenty of bottled water on hand.

To start:
BBQ

Me-chicken breasts and steaks (I coordinate with SacBill)

Menu Suggestions?
Green Salad? Potato? Pasta?
Garlic bread?
Other sides?
Dessert?

I can get all the perishables at the local supermarket.

As the week goes on I can do the the following:
1) PM my address and phone numbers
2) Post a map and locations
3) Propose a timetable

** We could use 1 -2 portable /EZ-Up canopies for the show. Anyone have access to some? **
 
I used to have an EZ Up, but I gave it to my MIL....

...easier than building a separate residence for her. :scar :WP

If Mr. Chicken's gonna be there then yes, he will attend assuming he finishes installing the sound deadener in Shag. That little turd has gotta earn his keep around here.

I will think of something to bring such as my typical Caesar salad or Mozzi ball salad or....?????
