The rear bumper was really showing its age with copper showing through. So this year's winter project is a re-chroming.

Removed the bumper and cleaned up the brackets....FoMoCo C7ZZ17A750A...if anyone cares.

Is there a FoMoCo number on the bumper somewhere?
Maybe mine is not original...no shocker there.

Mine had a date stamp but no fomoco stamp.

I also welded the brackets to the bumper and filled the bolt holes last year when I had mine rechromed.

Don't forget to replace the rubber washer between the brackets and body. :sm_NTA

I assume you will go to superior chrome they are great. I didn't think mine was salvageable but they got a serious ding in the corner out beautifully.

Yeah going to go to Superior chrome but....they are closed until 02Jan :shrug

Checked for some stampings....nothing. So I must have a repop.

And Dave...the bumper was easy to remove. I just wrapped a big chain around it and then to a lamp post and floored it. Bumper came right off...easy.peasy. :bowdown :bowdown

Mike,
Whoa boy. If you have a repop, why bother rechroming it? Just buy another one or as I did, buy a dinged up original from Packy for dirt cheap and take it across the street to Superior.

Show me the bumper when I see you today.

I haven't taken it in yet.
Today.
The reason I ask is that the one and only shop round here wanted like $300.00 to re-chrome a bumper (no pits). Also the same for each of the vent window frames. I'm looking for a more reasonable place and don't mind to pay to ship. Also if not a problem, ask what they would do a "new" bumper and vent window frames for. Thanks.

I think he'll be spending around $225-$250 for the bumper. I used that same plater to redo Shag's rear bumper. :thu

I then had Shag's vent window frames done via another local plater (Valley Plating) who charged me $300 for the pair. Extremely happy. Infact another StangFixer sent his frames to me to have Valley plating do his. I just can't remember who it was though.

What does Packy charge for an OEM core? I should do this as well. I'm worried that it'll get harder in the future to get things rechromed, especially in California.
