Ahhhh, these car decisions....

Ahhhhh, what a place to let off some steam..........

Just going thru this conversion concerning cars and us traveling is going to drive me to drinking.......more.

Wife likes the '07 GT Vert and wants to keep it.....store it for 6 months while we travel each year. I have just been waiting for her to figure the $$$ end of things in her mind. Storage is about $100/mo for a car size unit, so there is $600 plus keeping ins. coverage and plates, there is another $400 a year so $200 on the cost of storing. So far, $800 storage costs and then any problems based on the storage and not being driven on a real regular basis. Depreciation in 6 months is most likely close to that so figure I am out $1600 to have a car sit thru the summer.

Today, she saw the light so to speak and said maybe we should sell the '07 along with the '66. Buy one new Focus to tow and see if we really need a second car later. If we do, buy a cheap around town car. I was waiting for that.........

So, maybe I will just trade the '07 Vert just to simplify things a bit, sell the '66 and make things simple. I know an out right sale would be better for the money but selling right now seems slow for everyone so trading might be better. It takes 6-8 weeks to ordewr the Focus too.

I tried to sneak in keeping the '66 but she caught the fact that it still would cost us to store it for 6 months.....darn.

Anyway, thanks for listening....

Just wondering Pete, Why a focus? If you already have a reliable new car in the 07 why not just keep it?

My guess is you bounce back and forth from AZ to FL right? Both are nice weather towns, so couldn't you just use the vert year round?

I'd store the '07 for half that cost...and keep it in tip-top shape! :naug :naug

I've got plenty of room to store both Pete, bring them on out and I'll do it for nuthing!

Not much reason to go to Az for very long as one brother in law there now. Family is from there to Wa., Ut., Ia., Ks., Tx., and Ok.

The reason for a Focus......

The only way to take the '07 is to trailer it. That is no problem until it comes to trying to get into many of the RV parks around. Most have very tight spaces with just enough room for a car, let alone a trailer. The Focus can be towed "flat" as they say. It gets a tow bar mounting system and is towed with all 4 wheels on the road. Get to a park and un-hook and go, no extras. It is also 1000+ lbs lighter than the '07 without the trailer weight added. This is easy on the brakes plus better economy in the RV. With the Focus, I do not need extra braking on it based on state laws and the RV recommendations. Plus, the Focus Coupe with a manual seems to be a good car based on a ton of info I have read. I am kind of a Ford guy too.....

Mid..... :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
