A bit concerned about this fiberglass hood from NPD

I bought all the parts for repairing my car after the accident including a fiberglass 67 Shelby style 65 hood (same as the old hood).

This new hood was $579 and the body shop owner does not like it because it is wavy. I looked at it and it does not strike me as being as good as my old hood that I got from Mustang Parts of Las Vegas in 2005. It does not look as substantial as my old one.

The old one was a Fiberglass Specialties hood.

I may return this hood and get one somewhere else. I got it because I could get all the parts from one source, but now I am regretting it. I should have tried to find a Fiberglass Specialties unit if they still exist or equivalent

Can anyone make a suggestion for a source for my new fiberglass hood?

I got Red's GT350 hood (fiberglass skin on a full metal frame) from Tony D Branda www.cobranda.com. Their pn# SFH3B. Back then (about 7 years ago, my painter was very happy with it. Not cheap ($614) but love the quality.

I contacted Rick at NPD regarding small issue with some trim parts I purchased and he made sure the issue was resolved with the manufacturer... I suspect they will do the same for you with the hood if you're not happy with it. He's on VMF, so just send him a PM.

I bought one from Branda about 5 years ago and it is fine. At that time the guy I talked to at Branda said most of them on the market were made by them.

I also bought my hood from Branda...back in 2000'ish. Fit was good and it's held up great.

Well the manufacturer extended the sale on that hood for the month of Feb so he can still go that route. I figure you can't go wrong with the exact same one that served so well originally, right?
