6 years on it so far with many trials & tribulations along the way. Much credit goes to other individuals since I certainly didn't do it all alone.
I need to put a photo album together and include credits to those that helped get it to this point.
A buddy had most of the body work done and the project lost its momentum then sat a few years. We struck a deal later and I dragged it home.
I kept the foundation "correct" including the factory color and went for the day 2 theme with a few bolt-ons.
428 SCJ, PI Aluminum intake, Factory 735 Holley carb, slightly hotter cam, Headers, T-pan, electronic dist, and custom X pipe exhaust with Magnaflows. The stock iron intake and dual point dist are on the shelf along with the power steering set up - I've never liked PS in any Mustang I've owned. Dyno results were 445 HP & 495 TQ. Plenty of street power for a 4 spd and N-4:30 rear. (TKX in the future?)
This was my first (and last) 70 model. There are waaay too many one-year-only parts which translates into scarcity & more $$.
It has been a learning experience to say the least and there were a few do-overs that tested my resolve.
Met some great people and made some new friends along the way which is probably the best part of this hobby.
Until this car came along, I've always played with the 67/68 Mustangs. My first was a Nightmist blue 67 fastback "S" code. (now in New Zealand)
Hoping to get back into another 67 Fastback at some point.
Front end alignment is scheduled for Friday morning and if the weather stays dry, I plan to put a few shake down miles on it.
