69/70 reverse light wiring

The 4 prong plug should be same for both years.
The problem may lay in the switch connection point, You may have to adapt it to the switch your using
on your shifter. Like the hurst shifter switch connections differ from what the pic shows.

M1R, thanks for the reply.

The plug/connector was my main concern. I'm running a Tremec TKO so I'll have to adapt that end of the harness like you said. I've seen a few threads on the internet pointing to Forte for the switch, may end up having to grab one:

69 and 70 reverse light/NSS plug are identical on the main harness. The plug passes into the engine compartment via a grommet. Same plug.

Mid, thanks for confirming.

When I get the reverse lights working, that will be every light on the car. Except the passenger side under-dash courtesy light, which I still need to track down. Looks like I need to dig through my pile o' parts again :hs

Are you only missing the light housing, or the wiring? I believe I have one housing in stock, but its a bit rusty...let me know.

I'll have to go out in the garage when I get home tonight & look... haven't thought about it since last fall, and I can't remember if I have the wiring or not. I know I don't have the housing. I think we had you digging around on this last year too

I get new cores all of the time; sometimes they come with all sorts of little goodies attached. :yah I know I don't have the cross-dash wiring for 69/70 underdash courtesy lights that plug into the passenger side door jamb; I just managed to cobble together two remnants into one good piece two weeks ago. One of the remnants did have the lamp housing, which I retained.

Well, it looks like I have all the wiring in place. Just no pigtail/socket or bracket. I thought I had a bracket around here somewhere, I'll try to find it.

Ok, I dug up the old bracket finally. Looks like it's just the bulb socket/pigtail missing after all.

Well I fixed my passenger under-dash courtesy light, finally. And I didn't spend $100 on eBay for one either :soapboxrant

Since I already had the mounting bracket, all I needed was the socket/pigtail assembly. Which I found at O'Reilly's for $4 :yah

All I had to do was splice a male bullet connector on. Sometimes I think I make things more difficult than they need to be...
