2018 StangFix Midwest Cruise-In

Nope, no one in particular. Probably best to keep it small and let it grow. I hear that from my wife.

Waiting to hear from a buddy, we go to the UP of Mi with the wives in Sep, double checking the date.
 
Late to the discussion as usual. Depending on work I'm in for whatever you guys come up with.


Someone mentioned "other guys". The Chicago Chapter does a joint car show at the Autobahn in Joliet.

"The Chicago Vintage Mustang Club will be having their Annual Vintage Mustang, Shelby and All Ford Car Show at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet IL Sunday September 9 2018. The Windy City Region SAAC has partnered with CVMC in the past"
 
I extended the invite to one vmf’r that lives in eastern iowa. Not sure if he’s a member here or not.

So are we now thinking the weekend of Oct 6-7? I don't think we want to push things out much further. It is the Midwest. I can't make the next weekend anyway. If this is going to happen I suggest we lock these dates in and make it official so people can plan. I suggest a "voluntary" Friday arrival if possible but certainly to get into the area no later than Saturday late morning. We could all collectively meet up for lunch Saturday and then head out for our first day adventure (to be determined). Have a group dinner that night. Start off on the day two stuff Sunday morning and everyone could plan their departures as needed at some point that day.

Couple things I know of going on on these dates in the area we might consider.

On Saturday the 6th there is a pretty good cruise night gathering in Downers Grove
On Sunday the 7th there is a good car show happening nearby as well. Arrive after 9 am judging done by 4. Oldies DJ and other stuff going on there.

October 6-7 would be perfect for me, my wife has fall break the week before and after and family in the area so if the car is all together and trustworthy I'm in. I still have a few things to do and get some time behind the wheel before I'd take it on that far of a road trip though.
 
You guys are killing me! The 2 weekends I'm not available! Oct 6 I'm golfing with my son in a charity scramble for a guy on my golf league with cancer. If you guys settle on this date, I suppose I could have my son and a buddy golf...and pay for them...lol.
 
I'm thinking we have to go with Oct 6-7. So far we only have one "damn it", from you Mark, that the date conflicts but might not be completely out. Hate to screw up a planned outing with your son and all but if that is the only objection and it works for everyone else...I hope you can find a sub for the golf game as it'd be great for you to make it as well. Earlier dates kept falling apart and any later and we risk getting into bad weather. So what does everyone say/think?

As far as I know the interested attendee list is as follows. Obviously, anyone else interested is certainly welcome to join. Just chime in here.

I can’t confirm until next weekend. Deb’s away all this week and her schedule may change. Puppy arrives Wednesday. Will change everything.

I've got those dates in my calendar.

Just trying to figure out hotels and such.

I'll plan on Friday night hotel by your house.

I'm on track for that date. I wanna get some time behind the wheel of the 67 before I try to drive that far but I just need the exhaust H-pipe modified and I can start driving it around town.
