1971_1973 Mustang Molded Bypass Heater Hose 18472

All,

This is more of an informational thread on the 18472 Molded Bypass hose that connects the heater core and bypass valve (18495) . Most of the time we find these 71 - 73 mustangs, a lot of the original heater hoses have been replaced. During my 73 mustang integrated A/C, under the hood research, I noticed the bypass valve is located at the top, rear of the motor for the 302 and 351. Whoa, wait a minute! Most I have ever seen are lower near the exhaust manifold. One tries to tie off the bypass valve/hoses to keep it away from the heat and rubbing manifold. Part Number: C9ZZ-18472-A - Motorcraft KHM-43

Actually found one on E-Bay-

Are they worth the approx. $50 ? Scott Drake

Concourse Heater Hose (with A/C, Yellow Stripe)
» Search for "18472"

Part Number: D1ZZ-18472-ACY

These are the exact copies, approved by Mustang Club of America. They feature the correct grooves running the length of the hose, correct colored stripe and part numbers, air conditioned cars have a 90 degree bend on one end of the hose when appropriate. Colored markings are very durable and don?t come off easily.
