That other forum

The thing I've been struggling with for the last few days is this: We all put in time, thought, energy, and helped document stuff we thought was "important" about Mustangs.
Even the stuff that wasn't important information, we laughed, we shared, and we enjoyed.
The mods we had worked hard to calm down guys who were having a bad day, kept the bots and spammers out, and made it genuinely pleasant.

In short, we had a neat little 'ecosystem' of Mustang gearheads who were pretty happy. And - a few donations aside - this was all 'for free'. We weren't being paid, we did it out of love.

Then some gasbag we don't know who doesn't care about Mustangs, boops in, starts giving everyone wedgies. He's getting PAID to do this. He gaslights us, tells us how terrible we are, tells us that we're rude, that we're bashing moderators (when we're honestly just looking around in confusion, asking ourselves, "Is this really happening?")

... and he has the gall to insult us all, say we're "troublemakers", and gushes about how much better the site is without us.

Does any of this actually make any sense? I mean, someone paid him actual money to do this? I feel like this is an underutilized job opportunity.

It's like Masters of the Universe.

There was a guy in that show named "Stinkorr - Evil Master of Stench." I'd never realized that there was a job position where you could get paid for being stinky, and here's a guy that's gone straight to the top with it. He's the MASTER of stench. Probably gets paid double overtime on weekends, and BAM. He went for it with gusto.

So, being jobless right now, I am wondering, where can I apply to get paid for visiting someone's forum as a top-tier moderator, make trouble, insult everyone, ban tons of random cool people, and make a great nuisance of myself before leaving?
Like I mentioned earlier, you may have to stop and think about the bigger picture in order to understand what is happening. It isn't just VMF, it is forums in general. They get bought out if they're big enough, run through the corporate scam machine and flushed once they've bled enough sponsors for money. We aren't even a consideration, just a bother if we don't play along. By 2030 non of us will have a voice anywhere unless that voice plays the narrative.

I was laying low after my initial ban, waiting K out as he was supposed to “move on”. Seems he had and then he came back and with a vengeance. I had enough but still went offline to tell him exactly what I thought of him and what he could do if he didn’t like it. One he did immediately, the other I’m anxiously waiting on.
I would like to think he will leave and decent people will take over and it could one day be what it was, BUT…..I have interfaced with VS folks and they have backed his actions. Although graciously offering I could come back after “cooling off” I have informed them that there is no chance based on their collective actions. As long as it is VS owned I’ll never darken their doorstep again. 25 years is a long time but a second is too much to waste on that kind of mentality. I wish I could take back the banner that myself and Rick created. That bugs me just looking at it…

And I think you feel the same way now, I’d rather support an individual than a corporation.

I'd like to see that chart/graph Klutz posted and was so proud of now that the last two days of effective post-exodus numbers have been recorded.
Those things they track daily must look like they just dove off a cliff. And now Dennis here too? Those numbers, whatever they are, aren't going to rebound anytime soon either. No chance of that, they'll fall even more. Yup, sure would like to see that chart today.
Of all the bad manager types I've run across in my lifetime I've never seen anything to match K. The incompetence is astonishing.

Has anybody spoken with Rick Schmidt?
Hell, maybe he'd buy VMF from VS and fire the $hi+ out of them immediately.
To my knowledge no one has approached Rick in an effort to inform him of what has happened most recently. He logged in at VMF briefly yesterday but made no posts. He hasn't posted anything in nearly a week.
And yeah, wouldn't it be sweet if he were to swoop in and rescue/ransom VMF from Vertical Scope. (sigh)
Anyone here got him on speed dial?
