A few random thoughts from the peanut gallery:
We will never know if K has or is now looking at PM's. All we know for certain is that as an admin he has the ability to do so. I had asked around about that. We had to assume he was though, just to be prudent. We moved some communications out of VMF entirely and went to emails for that very reason. There were quite a few email addresses exchanged "just in case".
The last thread K started (and since deleted in it's entirety) was 3 weeks ago. It was self congratulatory, his assignment at VMF had been completed and he was moving on to his next one. And yet he's still there, and damned near full-time as far as I can tell. You can draw your own conclusions about that, I've drawn mine which are that he is very anxious these days, and suitably worried.
He should be very worried.
I have yet to ask Scotty and Chris if they had any inkling beforehand to the extent of the fallout that might ensue if they could get themselves permanently banned. And make no mistake, that was what they both set out to do. They had had it and were leaving VMF anyway, and getting banned permanently seemed a good way to flame out. But the combination of their bannings, one immediately after the other, started a bonfire. Let it be known that they, more than anyone else and all combined, made this huge and continuing exodus happen.
I love those guys, impeccable warriors the both of them.
Every single move that K made after that just poured more and more hi-octanium fuel on the bonfire. He deleted entire threads, he deleted individual posts within threads, and he banned even more long standing members. Think about that for a moment. K was in effect helping the "cancer" he perceived to grow and spread! I mean, just how stupid can that self described forum savior be?
IT'S THE ACTIVITY NUMBERS. Those are all that matters as far as forum value goes for Vertical Scope. They can add all the characters and scoundrels from the land of spices and elsewhere to the membership rolls they want, and total membership numbers may increase and look good, but they also won't matter. Total ACTIVITY is the value driver for ad revenue. India et al cannot and will not increase activity at VMF.
So I will say this again and for the 3rd time now: Any participation at VMF right now is tantamount to aid for K. Some will continue to help those in need over there, but they also must understand that every time they post or even so much as click on a thread that is the byproduct of doing so. Bless their well meaning and helpful souls, but that's a fact, Jack.

It definitely is a train wreck in progress. I will refrain from generating clicks over there to the best of my ability. Does just opening and browsing hurt?
