Wrenching success

been wrenching on my 01 F250.
Truck had been intermittently stumbling and using excessive oil consumption (a gallon in less than 100 miles). So, I proceeded to fix it.
From digging through power stroke nation.org and powerstrokehelp.com, I discovered I needed a cam positioning sensor and injectors. Bought said parts n a new magnaflow stainless exhaust (no muffler) and an AFE cold air intake. I also put in a new fuel pump, in-line filter and big (51 gallon) Titan fuel tank.
Results are excellent. Oil consumption is null (I need to get some seat time in it to get real #s), and power is good. Cab noise is minimal.

ZAlso, my timing is good as it snowed a bit yesterday when I went to get fuel.

I know there's an explanation, but at first glance I don't get how any of that hardware made it burn oil. What was up?

It was the injector seals. I replaced the entire injector assy, glow plugs n interior valve cover wiring harness since i was there. With 220k+ on the clock, I figured it wise. The other items were things to change to create a known baseline, so I have a rock solid fuel delivery system.

This is going to be your first winter up in the great white north? Are you ready for it? Snow already? Amazing as it sounds we actually got some measurable rain last night and today here in SoCal. However that is to be followed by a Santa Ana event on Monday. But it looks like you have lots of time on your hands now to do that wrenching. It is all worthwhile when the wrenching fixes the problem and upgrades are made along the way. So how is that single life treating you? Get to go out and wrench when you want, do not have to report that you are going into town for gas. Just remember the first time that you are snowed in Nancy Pelosi is not in your state screwing things up.

Snowing tonight. I have a tractor with a loader to clear the driveway. Busier than when I was working.

So the injector seals solved the problem of excessive oilconsumption ? good to know.
