Always on vacation!
I have now sat down three times trying to buy a 2016, 2017 and ordering a 2018.

These dealers think they have gold plated cars.

Looks like an ordered 2018 is the best deal.

So do you guys think I should go the manual recaro seats or the climate controlled power leather seats?

That's like the only option.

We are buying it without the stripes and having stripes painted on it.

Mel - it really depends on how you are going to use the car. If the climate controlled seats are anything like the ones in my 2015, they are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a car. The Recaros, while they certainly will hold you in better in a spirited drive, they are a bit uncomfortable and a lot harder to get in and out of the car! Heck, these cars are difficult enough for us old guys to get out of as they are!

Wow, didn't see this one coming. Good for you. Mel!

How has the value/pricing on the prior year models help up? Could you grab a used one and let the original owner suffer all the initial value loss? I agree with Ken on the seats. If you are actually going to drive and enjoy the car I would forego the Recaros.

A few things.

The seat option is on the 18. The 17 only comes with Recaro seats.

The 16, the dealer was in it wrong because they wanted one on the floor and couldn't get one from Ford so the bought it.

However the used 16s have been about $53k.

The 18 has a new dash cluster I'm not sure about. It is all digital kinda like a video game. You get to choose the layout and the colors.

So, they are all going to cost within a couple grand of each other.

The 16 and 18 are the only ones with climate controlled seats. We have them in our Durango and really like them.

If you want the Camaro, I'll sell it.

Not at all. I'm a tight wad and have a rule, never pay sticker or dealer markups!

Given that prior years hold the same value I would presume a newer model year would be the way to go on the surface. That new dash arrangement might be the deciding factor. I'd want old school gauges. Not sure long term if it makes a difference in desirability. But hell, if you;re buying to enjoy it who cares about any investment details, right?

I agree with you but it seems we buy a new car evey 5-10 years.

Since there's not much on this thing I can or am willing to work on I can see the new dash as an issue. If it goes out with no warranty I'm scared to know how much a replacement would be.

Ok, going in today to place our order for a 2018 Kona blue GT350 with the leather climate controlled interior and the electronic package.

When it arrives off to the painter for silver stripes.

Good for you and Amber. I am partial to the Kona blue color, but prefer matte black stripes. Watch out, Mikey will call it purple!!

Saw this at the Goodguys show today.

Sorry, thought it was Mike posting.

$49k is cheap.

I wonder what's wrong with it?

Hehehe, I called the guy. He paid $64k for it. Though the sign says $49k he said on the phone he is asking $57k.

He's as high as the dealer!
