This had the result of trashing the clutch and PP. The flywheel should be OK once I get it resurfaced.
I've already ordered the parts to fix her.. along with a new clutch fork and pivot stud. I'm hoping that everything will be in by next weekend so I can put everything back together.
Good times!

Is it leaking oil pretty good, or just blowby residue? If it is oil, there's probably a baffle that's missing. If it is blowby, your PCV valve may be clogged or you have excessive pressure (blow-by) in the engine. A clogged breather cap shouldn't be leaking: it's a source of fresh air into the engine crankcase."Kats66Pny" said:Stupid leak. I don't know why it's leaking from the breather. I checked it was on there good and tight. Maybe it's just old and time for it to be replaced. :shrug
Guess it wouldn't hurt to pick a new one up. I'm going to run to the parts store and see if they have a motorcraft one.
Yeah so that's my plan for today. Buy more stuff and see if it fixes anything. I haven't driven Gertrude in like a month! :steer
I thought I remembered her engine having roller rockers. With those valve covers, I'd bet the OP removed the baffles for clearance otherwise they wouldn't fit."Midlife" said:Is it leaking oil pretty good, or just blowby residue? I'm surprised it ever ran long enough to pump the oil all the way to top of the engine."silverblueBP" said:I had to modify the baffles in my VC's to keep the oil from coming out so much.
cool, she will be ready for the PT!!!"Larry G" said:Repacked the front bearings, greased all joints and checked for loose bolts.
Tomorrow my new/rebuilt center section is coming in, so I'll be getting ready for the install of that.
