It's that time of year again. Stangfix Fantasy Football League

works for me - is this on Aug 30? 3pm Pacific Daylight time?
 
ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS:

The draft will be on Saturday August 30th at noon CST. That's 1:00 pm EST and 10:00 am for you west coasters. I will reactivate the league off last years event. I just need to understand how we can switch ownership of the teams which will require new managers. I will post up here again when it is all set to go.
 
Returning players should be able to go to the ESPN site, log in and go to the Fantasy Football section and find the Stangfix 2014 league. Under the section to the right of the page with the heading "MY TEAMS" you should see it listed.

Both Dave's will need to re-join the league as no sooner had I deleted them to make space for new guys they both came back! I sent Sanborn an e-mail invite already so he/you can follow that to get in. Young Dave I need to hear from you with an e-mail address so I can send you an invite. Same with Emilio. I sent both of you PMs today. Please get back to me asap so we can get this thing rolling.

Draft is this Saturday at 12:00 p.mCST/1:00 p.m. EST.

Any questions from anyone just let me know.
 
Everyone needs to get over to the ESPN site and confirm they are set and ready to go. Take a minute to read the Manager's Note on the front page. I want to implement a new rule to the game. Give me your feedback here.
 
All set for the draft. Let the fun begin. 1pm Saturday for me is a HORRIBLE time slot. Labor day weekend party/drunk fest that's been planned since early May. I'll figure it out. Good luck!

As in years past it shouldn't last more than an hour. We had a hell of a time trying to pick a day and time that could work. At least it's early. The new keeper rule should help speed things up a bit and get everyone a roster they are happy with as well.
 
ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS: Draft is this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EST. Prior to the draft you need to have selected your "Keeper" player off of last year's roster. This needs to be done no later than Friday. I suggest doing it asap so it doesn't cause the draft to be delayed. Go to the ESPN site and it's fairly easy to figure out how to do. If you have problems, contact me and I will help walk you through it. Please have it done by Friday evening. The draft cannot commence if anyone has failed to make this selection.
 
Tomorrow is draft day. 1:00 p.m. EST. Before the draft can begin everyone needs to have selected their "keeper" from last season. If you still don't know how to do it get a hold of me and I will help you. If anyone should fail to pick one, I will go in and make that selection for you prior to the draft. The selection will be the highest rated player on your roster per the ESPN player ratings posted at the time the pick is made. PLEASE don't leave this up to me to do. Take a couple minutes now and get in there and pick the player you want. The draft cannot start until all the keeper picks are in so it MUST be done.
 
I sent a PM to all involved in the league. Read it! Follow it's directions! Get ready for the draft tomorrow!
 
Remember: any of you that have beaten up on your wife can't play for 6 weeks.

He admitted that he made a mistake with only a 2 week suspension, now he needs to go back and suspend RR 6 weeks.

Hey guys, some of you asked about doing more than one keeper. We can do more it's up to you guys. Majority rules. I think 2 or even 3 could be very interesting. Makes those mid round type selections that much more critical. More challenging. I'm all for it. Voice your opinions here. We need to nail it down tonight so the picks can be made before the draft tomorrow.
 
That's a no for me. I personally don't like the entire concept. Let a new season and picks be a new season. But take in consideration from who this is coming from.

Well, quite a few players responded and the majority wanted to keep it to a single keeper for this season. So one it is. We will see how it plays out today during the draft and as the season rolls along. Personally, I really like the Dynasty (keeper) affect. It rewards solid management year over year but also can bite you if you invest too heavily or to long on the wrong players.
Another very popular fantasy option is to include PPR in a league like ours. PPR (points per reception) adds a bit more as well. On top of points for yards gained and points scored in a PPR format you also get a point for every reception (catch). Now all of a sudden the RB rankings can make wild swings as a back who is not used on passing downs but is a goal line bull sees those little scat backs that reel in those short screens all day surpass them in point value. Or Danny Amendola (provided he doesn't break a nail) post game point totals in line with Megatron. Maybe this is an option for next season?

But for now, we have our league and rules set and a draft that will start in six hours!
