Wheels for my 73 Vert

Hello all.

This conversation actually started out on the Suspension/Brakes board where it quickly became more of a conversation about my wheels.

I would very much like to get your input on what wheels I should put on my vert.

Magnum 500's have been mentioned a few times, and I like the Cragar SS as well........ :Mark

Definitely something with a little more offset than your running now. Probably at least 17", maybe 18's. I would run the overused Torq thrusts before going with a chrome wheel like the Crager SS. What size do you have on there now?

I have 17's on it now.

So you started out asking about lowering your car and we swayed you into wanting new wheels huh? Lol

I think going with magnums, or something like torq thrusts would look best. I just don't like the modern wheels offset either.

It is funny, but I'm more excited about getting new wheels then I was about lowering the car. The hard part will be convincing my wife!

With the Torq Thrusts is the opinion to go with the Greyish Spokes? I will say that I like the price on the Magnums much better!

Anyone close to you that might have some TT's to try out? I'd be happen to let you try a 15"x7" TTD just for looks if you were close enough.

Think about a tire size that will fit the opening and you won't need to worry about lowering the car.

I would avoid the Chrome ones. With the color of your car I think a little darker wheel would look better. More of a gunmetal type finish maybe.
I wish I hadn't gotten the Chrome with my wheels.

Well , i'll give you my 0.02ct opinion.
Don't go bigger as 17" tire/wheel combo.
Classic cars must show enough tire to look still right.
Design of rim should be era correct.Your choice.
Like RapidRabbit said , I too don't like the modern design rim.
Again , my 0.02ct opinion.

Personally I would go no bigger than 16's. Bigger rims can look goofy on a stock classic car. My vote is still on the magnums.

I left a message for someone I know that has some TT's on his 67 (i bought some roller lifters from him), i don't know if he will let me try them out or not. Here in Iowa I could easily try out a John Deer hub but stangs are lacking!

I'm really into taking my vert old school: God Bless StangFix :wor
