Well I guess I am kind of throwing in the towel

After going back and forth I realized I just don't have the time to finish the Mustang and it needs to get done. With the blessings of two awesome kids, several job promotions later my time during the week is dedicated to work and the weekends to the family. These are simply my priorities at this stage of life. Wish I could go back in time and tell myself to finish pre-kids but it doesn't really matter now.

So the really good news is that the master himself Chip Foose, um er, no not Chip but Craig, Cmayna has agreed to finish the car which is essentially the rear interior and some of the dash and other misc. items. I'll start taking parts over this weekend and he will likely get started in a couple of weeks. I know it's in good hands considering the great work he has done on Shag and Red.

I wouldn't have got this far without the help of Craig, Jeff and Mike. I figure I could always re-restore it in 10-15 years with my boys.

That's great news! It's good to hear that you'll be able to keep the car and it'll be finished and that Craig will be able to fix it up for you. It sounds like you're really making the best of things.

I know the feeling... With a 2 year old at home, working on another one, new house and a growing business.... Mustang time has become very limited. I do what I can, when I can. I wish I had the support group you have out there. I'll get done in good hands at least.

watch out....I hear Craig has a tendency to hide salmon nuggets behind the interior panels. Job security....keeps you coming back for more help!

Good choice. Not only is he good with cars but when you stop by to visit, he'll have some good grub on the table :sm_BBQ

Better yet, I've been wanting to dispose of the mankini, assuming I can get it off of me :thu .

6 months down the road with his son riding shotgun..."Hey dad, what is that awful smell coming from under the back seat?" :thu

Honestly, it will be fun to work on this car's finishing touches. The car can stay home for awhile while I paint the interior panels, overhead console, work on the back seat, etc. Once the car comes over, gtscode and I will have a fender and door alignment party with the help of KBMWRS and JeffTepper.

Any excuse to have the mustang friends over.

Ken:

I didn't realize that you and Kennan left his car unattended long enough for Craig to leave his nugget treats in the car!!

Congrat's on having some help getting your car finished up...BUT.. when you go to pick it up and if you see Craig in this pose...back out of the shop..leave the car and RUN !!

I have to admit, I'm a tad jealous(although slightly queasy from that pic of Craig). I haven't been able to touch my car for a long time. Work, small kid, and lack of time and money have put it in a state of disrepair.

I was just passing on the rumors I had heard....like gtscode, we have yet to install the back seat or interior panels. Now that I know Craig works for cheap, and that the mankini will already be disposed of, I may hit him up as well.

Actually the rear panels and seat one was of the funner (new word) segments of Shag's return. Just takes tons of measuring, tweaking, etc.

I was standing next to him when that picture was taken. You should've seen the crowd that was gathered.

Don't know if I'd have admitted that in public! :roll
Knowing Craig's ingenuity, craftsmanship and attention to detail (in addition to the work you've already done), the car should turn out great! :thu

It begins today dropped off lots of parts for Craig today!! He'll be plenty busy for a while and we already have some questions about how the radio mounts.
