Welcome nitroracer

Welcome aboard, with a name like nitroracer, we definitely need pics!!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I was reading over on Grassroots Motorsports about classic mustangs and I found out that this is the place to be for some solid classic ford info. I have a 68' Fairlane 500 I have been working on over the last two years and hopefully it will be road legal again this summer in time for cruising. I started out with a running driving 68' sedan with a tired 289 2bbl/C4, manual brakes, and power steering. I drove the car home for under $1k and it didn't have any rust, a major selling factor for me being on the east coast.

The engine is now a 357W/C4, with GT40 heads, Weiand stealth intake, Edelbrock 600, and a serpentine conversion based around an 80's crown victoria. I also upgraded to a newer gear reduction starter, 3G alternator, and electric radiator fan. The braking system has been converted to discs in the front with scarebird brackets and runs a pair of hawk hps pads. A new manual master cylinder, lines, and adjustable prop valve have been added for good measure. I added a shift kit to the C4, and a B&M shifter to manage it. Out back the 8" runs 2.79 gears but I have a 9" with 3.70 gears ready to be swapped in. It finally runs and drives but needs finishing to be road ready.

Welcome Matt. If you leave those tires/wheels on the car it should surprise quite a few unsuspecting drivers.
