Barn find/survivor '73 Mustang convertible I purchased from the 3rd owner - the car was in Florida mostly from 1974-84. The car was repainted the original color in the early 80's, but there is no bondo or patches on the body. There are some areas that have only begun to rust and have never been fixed - I call it 'Original Rust'. This car is a time warp from about 1982 - it was run, enjoyed and maintained, but never restored.
It has the original 302 2bbl - I was able to match the VIN on the top of the block - and a new/rebuilt C4. The exhaust is new from National Parts Depot and is full duals with a crossover pipe. The car runs good, drives, stops - even the emergency brake works. Restore it as you drive and enjoy it.
Here's what it needs: The top is tattered and the rear glass window is gone, so an all new top would be needed. I just leave what's left of the top down and park it in my garage. The top motor and lines all work great.
A portion of the driver's footwell has been patched. The torque boxes, outer rockers, rear floors, trunk, etc. are all in great shape. The quarters and trunk drop-offs are all original and have never been touched.
The driver's door has a dent, but both doors are solid at the bottom seam. The grill/trim has been banged-up along the way, so a new one would really clean up the front.
The interior is all there, but original and well worn.
I have the Marti Report, original invoice and warranty plate, along with the owner's manual. The color is light blue, which makes it fairly rare if you're considering a full resto.
I've driven the car locally, but I wouldn't take it on a long trip with the missing back window. Feel free to email with any questions or for more pictures. I will consider a '65-75 convertible or Mustang of similar value for trades.
