Water Pump Question

I is winter cleaning time. I have this old water pump just taking up shelf space (for about 10 years). The only reason I kept it was it ha an 68 Cast Date. Should I attempt to rebuild it, just use as a core for the 289 I refreshing or just chunk it? Other options?

PS. I already sent my White Elephant so I can not use it for that!

I tend to hang unto everything with the hope that maybe someday I can give it to someone who would really appreciate it. Time marches on and before you know it there is alwyas someone you can please.... also I like the idea of snoopin' the concourse guys.... maybe it would be a good thing.

+1. For a $10 core charge, that original pump with a date code is likely worth more than that to somebody on the concours side.
