I like it when everything looks new. Is that aluminum strip over the radiator support custom? Does it serve a function or just for looks?

How about a late spring cruise?? LOL Seriously, I would be up for doing one.
Mike
Thanks. I'm really getting excited about getting it back on the road.

It's a custom piece made by my friend Chuck Wiltens. Most of the metal pieces that run across the radiator are usually pretty banged up, as was mine. He made that before I took it in to the body shop. They pounded my old one out and it turned out like it was new. They kept the holes so I decided to put the aluminum piece back in. I really like it and it doesn't overpower the engine compartment.

Looks good, Stan. Nice to have Chuck's shop and Chuck's help to reassemble it, huh?

The aluminum strip over the radiator support is extremely easy to make and look great. They carry the aluminum strips at Home Depot. You just cut them to length, bend them in a bench vise, polish them and screw them on. I did it to my '66 over 10 years ago.

Stan, you make that car too pretty, you won't drive it. I love how the color of the front shocks match Chuck's car lift arms - LOL.

Regarding the aluminum strip do I assume that you will then not be fastening the rubber weather stripping along the top to help route air through the radiator? Maybe it's no big thing.

Can't wait to see the car in person.

Stan, the car looks awesome. I have a question about your battery location. It looks like it is sitting farther the right, away from the fender apron. My battery + post sits a little under the apron. So the question is, Did you mod. the battery tray to get it to sit towards the rad.

Thanks guys.
I think I'll just glue the rubber strip to the top of the aluminum strip. It'll look really cool! LOL
Nothing done to the battery tray other than a new one put in.
And yes, I'll drive it. It won't be a trailer queen.
