Too much carb?

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
Check out the plugs from the 67. I think too much carb!

I see no indication of "too much carb". Appears to be running rich though. Choke opening all the way when warm would be the first thing I'd check.

That can also depend on your driving.....push the skinny pedal more gramps.........

I would jet it and just run thru the tune up specs.

could the OP give out with a little hard information. Like what kind of carb and the jetting numbers too, what engine is in that '67. I can't see the posted photos well enough to tell what plugs are those ? Are they Autolite 45's ? Knowing all that will help my crystal ball considerably.

I'm on vacation right now. I can tell you it is an Edlebrock and those are Autolite 45s.

I don't know edlebrock carbs extremely well, so don't know what the jetting normally is on them.

But some general questions anyway:

Has this car been running fine with the current carb set up up,to now, or is the carb new to the car ?

Has any engine work been done lately, basic tune up, or even just ignition ?

That car has a 289. No new work.

It always ran a little rich, but I didn't think it was that bad.

I'm going to put the front discs I have for it on and fix a couple things and sell it.

Then I'm going to finish the 65 and sell it too.

The plan is either to buy my Dad's house in OR and sell mine in UT or buy a 69 fastback.

If we move we will have to down size and a new one will likely be in order since the Durango will likely go too.
