This is the week

Yes, this is the week the old money pit becomes a real car.

I have a front-end alignment scheduled for Wednesday. After that, I have no excuses (aside from weather) for not driving it. I will have to learn to trust it after such a long down time of it not being on the road, but I will be driving it as much as I can before Old Man Winter poops on my party.

Did I mention I am psyched?! :pep

Congrats! Exciting day for sure. Take it out and put some easy miles on her and take your cell phone with you.

If I had a cell phone, it would be a good idea to have it along. This may be what breaks me down into finally getting one.

Well... if you're gonna twist my arm :)

I still have to a bunch to do - front spoiler, hood pins, "351" badge on the hood scoop, quarter emblems... and after I either clean the front glass up or replace it, windshield wipers and front windsheild trim. But none of that will keep it off the road.

Oh yeah - and hook up the hood scoop turn signals, install the headlight relays, sort out the power antenna issue... etc, etc. :p lol

If indeed the car is a money pit and you've spent all your hard earned dollars, maybe you can get one of those state funded $3 a month cell phones. Just tell them you don't have anymore money.

yeah... awesome!!

The first time my Wife took her vert out after we got it on the road it rained... a lot...

Did I mention I forgot to put the wipers on???

She laughed about it... :craz

Thanks for all the kind words.

I did take a few more pics, but you've already seen her best side. I had the engine bay looking pretty good a few years ago before the engine went in, and the car served its time in Paintshop Prison. Still need to get my drop-base Moroso air cleaner back from the body man. I would love to pull the engine & detail everything again. But not now. Oh yeah - heater hoses will be hooked up when I do the coolant flush in a few days.

I know the 351 Cleveland isn't correct for a 69, but I got a great deal on it (made $200 after I pulled the motor & sold the 71 Cougar it came out of). Plus, I kinda like the old Clevo's.

It's running a Comp Cams 282S solid lifter flat tappet cam. 750 Demon carb, Weiand Xcelerator intake, MSD AL6 box, duraspark dizzy, FPA headers, Dr. Gas X-pipe, Spintech mufflers, and a TKO500 transmission (TKO600 wasn't out yet when I bought it).

The seat upholstery is original & will need replaced sometime before next summer. I don't know why the comfort-weave sections look gray in the pics.

Yes, I have a cheapo Grant wheel. I kinda like it though. Plus I didn't want to spend the $700 to restore the stock wheel

The LED gauge light kit was money well spent.

I still need to put the plastic caps on to trim out the seat/rear deck. You can also see the streaks on the sail panel from buffing compound. Car got caught out in the rain at the shop before I had the rear window sealed up good. I need to find something that will clean that up without damaging the sail panel.

The door panels aren't going back on until I get the power door locks in.

You might want to watch how close you park to that For Sale sign. :eek

lol - it doesn't matter. I live right on a state highway on a 4-way stop. Usually takes about 10-15 minutes if I pull it out to work on it before somebody asks :p If I ever do go to sell her, it won't take long.

Check out this pic I took after the car came back from paint. You can see how close the semi is. Funny how small the Mustang looks there. It looks HUGE in the garage :)

Well, the car's at the alignment shop right now. Dropped it off on the way to work (about 6 blocks from the shop, as the crow flies).

Also got the new coolant in this morning & finally got the heater hoses hooked up. No leaks! Yay. Looks like I'll have heat on the way home tonight at 10:30.

Dang, it's not 10:30 yet? :)
