As some of you may have known, we were dealing with when was a good time to say goodbye to our elderly dog, Joey.
I won't go into details but yesterday was the day and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I am taking it much harder than I thought I would and my wife is taking it much better than I thought she would. She says that she has been seeing the progression downward more than I have and has had more crying days tha last few weeks.
He lived a long life of 19-20 years and I hope that we gave him a life that he was happy with. Now he can see, now he can run and now he can sleep in the sun rays once again.

Sorry to hear that Chris. I'm sure you and your family showed Joey a good life, think of the alternatives some other animals face. To have had a loving, caring family was more than likely part of the reason he had as long a life as he did.

My condolences, Chris. Dogs sure can add a lot joy to life, I'm sure you did the same for Joey.

~20 years sure is a damn good run.

Very sorry to hear this Chris, but WOW 19 - 20 fun and loving years. That is amazing! Take solace in the fact that you gave him a great life full of love and joy.
Very hard for us dog lovers to face the inevitable, they are truly a huge part of our families.

Chris, it is truly the one of the hardest days in your life. My wife, son and I went thru it a year and a half ago and it still hurts to this day. My condolences.

Chris,

I know there's nothing I can say to ease the pain, I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost our Lab last Christmas, they are so much a part of our families which makes it so tough.

I'm not looking forward to this Christmas, the pain is still here.

Chris sorry to hear of your loss. It is never to easy to loose a pet. I know in the next few years it will be happening to me and am not looking forward to it. Hang in there and you will always have the fun memories that you and Joey had together.

I know what you're going through.
Hang in ther. You enjoyed Joey for 19+ years. That's amazing.
We still talk like our dog is still with us (lost in Feb a day after his birthday).

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I had a dog named "Osa" that I got right before I started freshmen year of high school. She was with me all through high school and even after I got out of college. Hated it when she died in about 2002.

Sorry bro,

Had to make that decision with my 120 lb white shepherd about two years ago. The absolute best dog I ever had.

your right, it is without a doubt the hardest thing i have ever had to do, I had to let my samoyed go about two years ago, we still talk about her and miss her all the time, they are great friends. we feel your pain.

Chris,
What a beautiful puppy that was. Though I'm more into cats, I know how you are feeling. It hurts big time.

I am so sorry. I lots TC after 14 years of fun. It's been 7 years and I think about her everyday. I swear she could talk. I knew what she was thinking and she knew what I was thinking. She loved going for rides in the car and going to the beach. I wish all the best for you and your family.
