Speedometer Cable Lube

janschutz

Corn Hauler
I have noticed the speedometer needle on both my Mustangs are bouncing while driving. I believe in the past that people have said to lube the cable. I have never done that, what lube do y'all use? I think my Dad used to put just a few drops of transmission fluid in them.

WD40
oeps , too late
WD40 is not a lubricant. It will not last long at all. White lithium is also not preferred in this application either. It will collect dirt and harden in most cases. Good ole' light weight oil works best.
