Harry Shearer, who played the voices of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Waylon Smithers, and Principal Skinner is leaving the Simpsons after 26 years.

I've watched this show since its inception and have always enjoyed it. I also remember 'Life in Hell' being published in a local paper (LA Weekly) prior to the show appearing, when I was back in College.

It will interesting to see how they handle him leaving (and those character's voices being replaced, or 'killed off').

love to see it ......once in awhile.
26 years ?? Didn't know that.
But hee , we are 10 years back in time here in Europe.

They'll have to have a nuclear accident and kill off half the town!
 
One other thing I will add is that I have observed that there is a 'lesson' in every show... Not all shows can say that. Even when Itchy and Scratchy are killing themselves 10 timesover!
 
Ironically I was watching old episodes of the Simpsons when I read your post! I recently commented to the wife how amazing it is that the show has been on so many years. I have to marvel at making a different opening title scene for so long! It's a shame to see Shearer go :(:(:(
