RJM Harness install question?

For you guys that have the RJM EFI harness already installed, I have a quick question. Do I need to hook up the Coolant temp sender and oil sender wires or does the computer use those as reference for something? The reason I ask is, I am running mechanical gauges and do not need the electric sender for those. Can I just leave them un hooked?

I am not sure but IIRC the computer will use those as a reference for engine operations. I would find a way to hook them up. Another port in the intake for water temp and add a T to the oil pressure sender for an electronic sensor.

Are you talking about the sending unit wires coming off of the 3 wire plug? If so, no, you don't need to hook those up for the computer to function.

I was thinking he was referring to the sending units themselves on the engine and not the harness that connects to the gauges. If the OP was thinking of the 3 plug connector by the master cylinder then I agree with Dave.

The coolant temperature and oil pressure sensors aren't required by the computer. The computer does need a coolant temperature reference, but there's a separate sensor on the passenger side hard coolant lines for that.

Brain Fart :ep I was referring to the senders that go to the gauges, and now I realise that it has a separate sensor for the coolant temp. I am just going to leave those sender wires un hooked and tuck them away in case I ever go to electric gauges. Thanks for the help guys.
