Removing dynamat (ick)

I have a leak in one of my vert top hydraulic lines. The genius PO put dynamat (full coverage) on the divider between the back seat and the top well. the dynamat is stuck right over some of the plastic hydraulic lines. (yes, the lines are between the dynamat and the metal divider!) I am going to have to pull out and replace the leaking line. Pulling off the dynamat leaves half of the black rubber goop on the metal foil of the dynamat and the other half on the metal seat divider/hydraulic lines. Anyone have any advice about getting the dynamat off, other than just scraping it with a paint scraper? This stuff makes for a quieter ride, but dang it is a pain to remove. I am also going to route the new lines the rght frigging way this time.

( and yes, Rick, I already know your advice that I should get a better car.)

try with a heat gun :confu :confu

or just cut beside and along the hydraulic lines ??

Great advice. I will cut along the old lines and lay the new ones in the old tracks. Trying to take it all off at this point is what my dad used to call "Running when you ain't being chased." The collective wisdom here, even putting Mark in the mix, is impressive.

I have used Dry ice with very good luck.

Break up the dry ice and spread them over the sound deadening material and just wait for the rice krispy noises(snap, crackle and pop) to end or slow down. Hit them with a hammer to break them up. I used a 3lb sledge hammer. It's recommended to do section at a time.
