So, some of you may know we have been trying to decide if we should move out of wisconsin for some time now.

Well in the past month we have had many twists and turns. My wifes brother and his wife decided to sell their house in Florida and guess what. They moved back to wisconsin and are now expecting their second child. Now her dad is putting his house on the market and is planning on moving back to Wisconsin in the spring as well.

This has all made us think about our daughter and wanting to have family in her life. She is turning 4 in march and we don't want her to grow up without her family nearby.

So as we sit through one of the crapiest winters in a long time in wisconsin, we have decided to stay here for her family. Not an easy decision to say the least. But perhaps we can move when she gets out of school.

I told my wife that the only way I would stay in wisconsin was if we found a house on the lake so I could at least enjoy what little time we get in the summer. We found a waterfront house with a dock and boat lift we like and hope to put an offer in on it soon. The plus side is its 15 minutes from work. I currently drive about 40 miles one way each day.

Wish me luck. Hopefully I can survive 15 more winters in the frozen tundra.

Good Luck!
Sounds like a great deal. Fishing good in that lake I hope.....
I too have been trying to get myself closer to my family and friends for my boys sake....and my sanity. Have an interview next week with a new position. :thum

. Does the new house have a huge heated garage?

NO. the garage is the same size as my current one. it's a 3 car with the third car being double deep. so I should still be able to fit all 3 cars and the boat in there. It has drywall and hopefully they insulated it. :dun

I bet it is...as long as you've got one of those big ass auger things and a little shed to push out on the lake. :pbj

I put up with 130* August weather for 15 years because the wife and kids didn't want to move. They will go fast.

It sounds pretty awesome. When not working on the Stang, you can be in a heated shack ice fishing in the winter. Nothing like fresh frozen fish. In the summer, cruising the Stang and boating and fishing right from the back yard, definitely a dream come true!

The only thing I didn't get when I moved out of the heat was the fishing from the back yard. The lakes are close though.

Enjoy and I do hope all works out for you!

You should see some the "sheds" they fish from in the winter. They have heaters, TV and all the amenities.

Thanks guys. Our listing went online yesterday and our agent says he has several people already interested. First showings start this weekend.

Hopefully we won't have any open houses to deal with. Don't need all my nosey neighbors tromping through my house.

Yes. We had planned on waiting until spring, but we just happened to find the other house we liked. Winter is really not a good time to sell in Wisconsin. Especially this year.

Well a quick update. We have had 7 showings since Saturday. 2 offers currently on the table. And someone else interested who is looking at it today. As of right we have a full price offer and are just waiting to see if the last person wants to offer more otherwise it's pretty much a done deal.

Now we just have to get the right price on the house we want otherwise the whole deal is off. We couldn't put in an offer at all on the new house until we had an accepted offer on our house since it's currently held by a relocation company. The only thing that may kill the deal is the new house needs a new roof and the relocation company needs to replace it before we can close.
