Prop Valve Gizmo

Here is why I got the "GIZMOFO" handle.

I have been doing a front disc brake upgrade and was struggling with the installation of the proportioning valve.

I found a Miata racer that used a remote balance bar aduster as a method to adjust a standard proportioning valve from within his car without having to run the front to rear brake line inside the car.

I referred to this as a "gizmo" and thus the avatar and handle as provided by one of our thankless administrators.

Here are a couple pictures below of the test fitment.

I still have to put a lock nut on the prop valve and tie down the cable.

Later.

Ah, gotcha.

So how far along are ya now on the upgrades?

Not very far at all. Seems like one step forward and two steps back. Broke my flaring tool die this evening working on a new brake line that is as hard as a frigging rock.

The steel that these lines are made of varies by the inch/foot. Some of it flares easy and some of it does not.

All I wanted to do is finish up the lines from the distribution block to the master cylinder and now I am dead in the water. Ordered four new dies this evening but of course I will not get them until late next week.

I am so tempted to spend $300 on a Mastercool hydraulic flaring tool. I just had two more ends to flare and I would have been done.

Just a wonderful end to an already crappie day.

I like it, my valves been sitting on my workbench for a few months because It's pretty tight around my firewall, perfect!
