Today we did attempt to bleed the system. After flushing several quarts through the system we disconnected the ignition and cranked the engine over 20 seconds at a time while slowly turning the steering wheel lock to lock.did not see any bubbles or foam during this process but the fluid level would raise up the filler neck and go back down to the same level. after doing this numerous time, we started the motor to see how the steering felt. ( all this time the front end is raised so the front wheels are off the ground). The wheel still jerks on initial start and progressively got worse to the point it would turn full left and be almost impossible to turn right.
I do not know the prior history of the vehicle but will say we did not notice anything abnormal, ( other than being an old unrestored car) it handled as expected.
when we had the frame repair done, the fabricator did put all the new suspension parts we provided back on the car, but the steering box is original.
