Porosity in a road demon jr.?

I was wondering if anyone might know if porosity in the hole for the needle and seat would cause flooding issues? I attached some photo's of the porosity. I keep getting fuel in the oil.
thanks for any idea's.
Rick

How do you know there is fuel in the oil? If so, is it a large amount? Does the bowl empty when left sitting?

It starts to run real bad and I checked the oil and it is contaminated with fuel. This happened more than once. Right now it has about 1/2 of a quart according to the dip stick. No, the bowl is not empty after setting. I guess I will just try another Carburetor and see what happens.

Wow! That second picture is not good!

Another possibility for fuel in the oil is a bad diaphragm in the fuel pump. That's a cheap fix!

Midlife, I was thinking also about changing fuel pumps. This one is new but you never know. I also put a pressure gauge on the fuel line and it shows right at 6 pounds.

If gas was leaking out of the carb while running, I doubt it would get to the oil. I would think the fuel would have to leak into a non firing piston and then seep into the pan. That fuel should go into the intake and be passed on thru to the exhaust as a rich burn problem. I would look at the fuel pump also.

Float levels set correctly?

Believe it or not, but my old holley would do the exact same thing. It would flood over. I remember changing the oil once and was like WTF! it had a bunch of gas in it. I tried adjusting the floats, but it didn't fix the problem. I ended up changing carbs later and it fixed my problem.

I believe that I will cut my loses with this demon and go on from there. I bought a new fuel pump and will try it also. Does any body have an opinion on the summit carbs?

Thanks
Rick

Got one on the way. I can let you know once it's installed. Heard good things about them.

Thanks Sluggo,
What will you be putting this carb on? What size are you getting? I would appreciate any information that you can give.
I am running a 351w with small cam and auto.

Thanks
Rick
