Photo of my fixed car

DEL65

Of The Morons
As you might recall last Sept, while on the annual MITM trip in Pismo, while I was parked at a gas station, a guy in a truck backed into my 65. (Most of the Nor Cal guys were there.) The corner of his bumper tagged my gas cap damaging the taillight panel, bumper, cap, and filler neck. I did get a nice check from his insurance company.

A local body shop fixed it for half the price. He came highly recommended and does 50/50 insurance/classics. They were able to save the panel and he did an excellent paint match. I'm gonna use the left over money to install front discs. Unfortunately, no amount of money can fix my emotional scars.

When you ,for the first time , use your disk brakes , your "emotional scars" suddenly disappears. !!!! :ecit

BTW bodyman did a great job :craz

That sound....crunch....still haunts me. :scar

John it looks great......you're driving it to Knotts, right? :)

Hi Mike, I'm not taking it to Knotts, but for a different reason: In order to do my contribution to save the planet, I'm car pooling with SAC69.

But you will bring it to MITM? That is far more important to me than Knotts. I know you car might be a little edgey arriving in Pismo Beach again, but we need to get over it.

Why not get a whole disc brake front end off a 65/66 mustang and then start from there? That's what I did with Red.

John, no amount of money will fix the emotional scars that run deep into you. :$$$

He did do a nice job. Every time I think about that day, I see kbmwrs yelling "Oh my God!" as the guy went into the back of you.

Congrats and a little story

Wow, that looks really nice!! I love the way your exhaust comes through the valance!

I once had a nissan 200sx(the earlier sportier hatchback), and a clinic that I practiced at had a huge parking lot, very few cars ever parked there anyway. I parked my car way out in the middle so no one could POSSIBLY back into my cute little car! A lady in a suburban manages to back way out into the parking lot and smash my passenger door! However, she could have just as easily drove off, but she sought me out and gave me her insurance info.

I like the idea that the kit contains new parts and hoses. I don't think it's cheaper to go that original parts route and hassle with rebuilding the calipers..etc. Cal we talk about it this weekend?

The rumors have now been proven to be false. You do have a Mustang! Hoooray!

:WOP

Kudos to the body shop, they did a really great job. I can't imagine the feelings that you went through when it all went down. Glad to see the ride is back to looking as amazing as it did before the incident, hope to meet you at Knotts.
