Pertronix 3 install help

I finished the install but failed to read you must cut out resistor on the old pink power supply.. Where is this resistor I took the whole dash apart and can't locate it
Thanks

The pink wire is the resistor wire. IIRC on a '67 you bypass it using the green/red stripe from the ignition switch to the coil. Check your wiring schematic to confirm.

So do I cut and splice into the green and red with that pink wire? I know it says on the wire resistor wire wasn't sure if there was an actual resistor in there or not.. Man what a PITA..

The entire pink wire needs to be eliminated from the system. Jump around the pink resistor area of the wire. There should be some plugs in line.

On a 1970 without a tach, the pink resistor wire runs from the fuse box to the gauge plug just beyond the firewall large grommet.

So where do I jump on after I splice in a new wire from the fuse box? Ive located the wire under the hood to where it gets to the 3 way plug. After that it goes to the dead wire that was on the coil pack

FWIW I never cut out the Pink resistor on my 65 when using the Pertronix set-up and never had an issue.

There are differences between the three Petronix systems, and Petronix I is compatible with the resistor wire.

I've run the Pertronix II with the resistor wire in place too...

I think a lot depends on the condition of your harness and what voltage you actually see at the distributor.

Good luck,

I think in going to just splice into the pink wire from the ignition module and run it to the coil so I have 12v, my harness looked brand-new when I took off the wrapping, honestly I think I'm the first one to ever look at it

That's what I did too.

I didn't want to cut into my stock wires out of fear of screwing something up. Not the fear of going back to stock :)

Well after a optima battery I finally got it up and running no problem.. I do have to adjust the timing i think because from the exhaust it makes a wierd noise.. Never did that before.. Can anyone explain to a noob how to adjust the timing correctly?
Thanks
