More Hot August Nights pics ... I took hardly any this year, and most of my night time pictures were too crappy to save.

Some do the part open hood thing here too. I hate to have to bend over to look plus I have seen people hit their head looking at the engine. I say either open it or close it........

+1, Curious though, is not opening the hood all the way a CA thing?

LOL

It's more of a JohnPro thing. If the hood is open all the way, no one ever sees the 408 emblems on the hood scoop, or the billet grill in the front of the hood scoop. Opening it up part way shows them off more, and still shows off the engine.

As an added bonus, it keeps the engine bay a little darker, so you can't see the places I either forgot to clean, couldn't reach, or was too lazy to clean (she's no trailer queen! LOL).

On my '66, they look around the hood to make sure the scoop is open when they see it on the inside. As for the clean engine bay, I have a paper that explains a bit on the car which includes the fact that the car is a daily driver. Basically, if it is dirty, get over it.

I go to have fun. I won enough awards from all the motorcycles and my last '66 so I have fun now. Some even frown when I fire it up if asked to hear the pipes.lol

I talked to three or four guys last night that were all in different stages of building mustangs. One really nice guy in a wheel chair having a '68 S could being built, said he pulled the 390 for an FE 427. It was really nice to talk to him. One guy asked to me fire it up so he could hear the magnaflows. It was kinda cool to watch his wife jump....

Of course I was sporting a StangFix t-shirt, so maybe we will see some more new members. Also wore it today (after a wash) to the NTMC (North Texas Mustang Club) big once a year indoor show, the dude at the door looked at my shirt and asked if the site would explain how to FIX everything on a Mustang, I told him everyone here was an expert, but no one knows a lot about anything, but a little about everything.......also told him about the Concours Mustang site and he said he had visited there recently.

You mean your shirt did not sport the phrase..... StangFix....even if it ain't broke, we will tell ya how to fix it.

I do the same thing John. I spent a lot of time moulding my mammoth scoop on there and want to show it off as well.
