opinions on this tach?

My sunpro broke after a year. It got to where the needle would hang up and jump. I had mine on the steering column but was not using the 3". I thought it was too big. If you get one and have the same luck I did, you're not out a lot of money.

The choices on tach's are almost endless. I'm using a VDO I picked up used from ebay approx 5 years ago, trouble free.

I AzPete, has a Sunpro tach in the '66. I put it in when I built the car in '99, and it's been trouble free from the beginning. I don't like the ones with the chrome bezel, though. The one I bought has the black bezel.

Matt, the main body of the tach is approx 3 3/8, the bezel area flares up to approx 3 5/8. Personally, the smaller tach's (2 1/4?) take some effort to "see," I'm accustomed to using this size in several prior Mustangs so it works for me although it's not unobtrosive. The black color does help to blend in vs. a chrome, if that's your intention. The tach is to large to center on the column due to how the existing dash bezel is formed thus forcing it forward, too close to the wheel for my taste, that's why mine is offset to the left.
