North Texas road rally

Might be a little bit of a drive for you North Dallas guys. A buddy of mine did the last rally these guys put together and had a blast. The last rally ended at Mechum airport and they each took a picture in front of an old B52 they have out there. I'll see if I can find a link to the facebook page with all the pictures from the last one.

You all seemed to have so much fun on the Clear Blue Sky rally, that we just had to create another event for you to enjoy: the Open Road Adventure Rally. Instead of airplanes, this one features a bit of Texas history, the Bankhead Highway.

The historic BANKHEAD HIGHWAY, an early transcontinental road built in the teens and 20’s, yes, even before Route 66. It ran from Washington, DC to and San Diego. It was part of the National Auto Trail system and now the Texas Historic Highway as part of the new state Historic Roads and Highways Program. The BANKHEAD had a Southern route through Texas and believe it or not, there are parts of the Road left in driveable condition around Weatherford, Texas.

If you’ve ever run 66 or just dreamed of it, here’s your chance to run even an older Americana Highway. See historic Courthouses, 80 year old bridges and early century gas stations on The BANKHEAD with the fun of an Auto Rally.

Rally themes include; Mountains, Ranches, Sheriffs & The BANKHEAD.
