Just wanted to say hello and mention that I'm looking forward to sharing our passion for mustangs!

I'm currently in the middle of a '65 fastback restomod project. I've owned this car for over 13 years and finally got settled into a place where I could strip it down entirely and restore it properly. I just finished the install of a new floorpan with the addition of subframe connectors. I'm currently lowering the seatpans and fitting some '91 GT front seats. As far as the powertrain goes, I'm running a carbureted '93 cobra 5.0L with twisted wedge heads, T-5, and 9-inch rear end. In regards to the steering and suspension, I'm leaning towards one of the MII IFS packages currently on the market but need to do a little homework before choosing one.

I try to do most work myself in my spare time so progress is often slow but steady...

Welcome to stangfix. You have come to a good place for info. We have alot of members with alot of experience in different areas of car restorations. Looks like you did a great job on those floor pans.

Welcome aboard, the car looks great so far. Don't worry about the time, just enjoy it and learn so you can tell others.

Let this be an example for all newbs, introduce yourself, tell us about the car(s) and attach pics :pep

This guy deserves some fresh, hot cookies!!

Welcome!

Excellent first post.

Even though we lightly harass newbies about pictures, you are all welcome pictures or not.

Welcome to the land of crazies. Keep your wife, girlfriend or both locked up when chatting with us. And if you have any pet sheep.....we'll, that's another story by itself.

I like what I see in your pics. What plant assembled your 65? What's your plan in color exterior and interior?
T5? I knew there was something I liked about you. That's what I'm about to install in our current project

Regards
The sane one of the bunch

The car is a late December built Dearborn A-code. As far as colors go, I'm considering either a silver or black exterior and either a red or black interior.

The T-5 actually is yet to be installed. I just recently acquired it so I could have it when I put this project back together. Are you going with a cable or hydraulic clutch system?

Stock mechanical clutch with a ORP modified Zbar, etc. Don't like the looks of either cable or Hydro.

Welcome aboard 65 Fasttang.

My '66FB was a similar build as yours. I used a 4link rear and a MII style front suspension (Rod&Custom), narrowed 9", T5, 5.0 roller motor stroked to a 347 and I went with EFI.

We should be able to assist you through anything that comes up as you work towards completion. Anything you're considering doing, you should find people here who have done similar and can run through the pro's/cons beforehand.

welcome...no I'm the sane one.

So I'm interested in your locale? Maybe you're close to other nuts/crazies here. :vic

Welcome aboard! Where are you located? We have a few Stangfixer's that like to troll around at night and check on driveway builds..... you know who you are... you know.... and dont worry, they just take pictures

I'm from this little old town formally known as the "Motor City". :sad

They still have electricity in Detroit? I thought I'd read somewhere that the electric company was moving out of that area.....
