lug centric lug nuts?

I have been chasing a weird feeling in the front suspension since I got my car back on the road, and honestly it always felt like loose lug nuts. I pulled the wheels, checked the disc brakes, wheel bearings, torqued the lugs with a torque wrench, everything kept checking out ok.

Today I pulled the wheels yet again and noticed just how loose the lug hole openings are on the wheels compared to the standard 1/2" lug.

I then noticed that the beveled area where the lug nut seats against the wheel is a lot larger than the beveled area on the lug nuts I'm using.

Thus the question, is there specific lug nuts I should be using with these wheels?

I'm using the 2002 Bullit wheels with spacers, but regardless of the spacer, once torqued I shouldn't have any issues with that.

Thanks, got it. Was amazed that they were $12.99 for a set of 4 at Autozone, picked up a complete 4-wheel set on Amazon for $10. I definitely had the wrong ones then.

Sam, glad to hear that you were able to correct the problem with a visit to Autozone. Wish so many other issues we encounter are as easily corrected as this.

I went with the Ford ones (Part # 6W7Z-1012-BA) because I didn't want to deal with the chrome chipping and flaking off of the traditional chrome ones. The Ford ones are more money but I think the durability will be better in the long run. They are steel lugnuts with a stainless steel outer shell.

Wow, I always hated the ones with the outer shell because the slip easier. Not sure the ones I used were a stainless steel outer shell though, I thought they were a chrome shell.

No slip with these... I remember years ago there were some really crappy ones that you could practically peel the shell off by hand... I don't use an impact gun on them so that may help preserve the life on them too,
The picture makes it looks very graining being so close up, but they are plenty bright in person. Being stainless I'm sure they could be polished up if you want them super bright...

Those look to be better quality, the one's I've seen you can slip the shell off.
