I've cross the 2013 Boss of the list because it was vandalized at the dealer and I don't want to buy a car that has already been repainted prior to ownership (so no carfax show up)

I'm thinking about going and looking at this mustang tomorrow.
1968
351w with AFR heads and a cam.
C4

There are 2 things I really don't like about the car....1 is easily changed...the other not so much. But it certainly looks nice in the photos, enough to go look at it.

I'm not digging the color scheme. but other than that, it's slick. 25k-30k probably.

Bill

Green way too light
White stripes way too wide

Unless it's a deal you can't refuse, or you have always been seeking a 68 with those colors, I would walk. You're not telling us any details of the restoration. What sheet metal has been replaced? or what is the condition of the floor? History of the car? blah, blah, blah...

I hope you photo shopped the ponies on the front and rear seats...... :barf

The stripes are growing on me.

Its a pretty close semblance to 67 dark moss green. I think the lighting it making it look too light.
Yes the seats would have to go.

Asking price is 29k been for sale for 5 months (that I am aware of). I was thinking 23-24k might make me like it enough to buy it. But I haven't looked at it closely yet. It has been discussed in email that it is complete restored with bad metal replaced with good metal. But until I look it over that's just seller talk ;)

I will point out however that it certainly appears to have been front end repaired since there is no vin stamping on the engine apron...but since this is a 68....that is less of a concern (as long as there is one in the window that matches the title ;) )

My first mustang was a 67 in dark moss green with a white c stripe on it, a 351w under the hood, and a c4. So it is 'close' to what I have been looking to get for 20 years now.

As others have said, the stripes and interior would have to go. Even if you keep the stripes, that interior would be expensive to replace.

You know you secretly really like lime gold cars anyway :thu.

I would keep the stripes.
I have 2 bullet seats sitting in my garage that I would bolt in
And the rear....well....I don't know if its a fold down or not....but if it is....that's an easy fix. If it isn't....I don't think I would buy since I wouldn't want to sink 1000 into the interior AND still have a turn signal hood with a fiberglass scoop (the other thing that bothers me that no one mentioned :) )

Just noticed that, it was hard to see in the pics. Maybe it's just me but it looks like the fenders were painted on the car, the fender bolts look they have been painted over. The door striker has received this same treatment. That to me says sloppy work and I would stay away. I would bet that you would find quite a few cut corners if you inspected it in person.

I don't like the interior or the stripes but the car looks clean and has plenty of potential. I have a bit of a hard time understanding why you think you need another 67/68 fastback as you have two already. I would understand if the price was a bargain but it isn't.

You didnt give me a chance to post first...that was first for me, interior was 2nd

Maybe you want to SAVE it from the likes of the morons that are selling it, then...go for it. You can make it into your vision, no problem.

We here seem to pick apart and be very critical but that's what you need, someone to be more critical than yourself at this moment.

Along with what others have said I would also be leary of the rear tire clearance. Looks to be damage waiting to happen.

I was searching new stangs last night...there are several Boss 302's in the Philly area...Since you 'work' up this way...come on up and take a look at them...hell..I'll go with you! :thu
