LED taillights...differences?

Okay so I'm going with Mustang Project LED taillights for the 67.

I don't want to sequential and that option is available but there seems to be a couple offerings of this kit.

One on the MP website....seems to show only a few LEDs

And the other a MP kit on EBay...which brags about 230 LEDs

Obviously the Ebay offering has more LEDs hence the price being higher but is there a real difference in the visual performance?

When I was looking into the Mustang Project LED taillight, I found that they make several varieties: Sequential, non-sequential in both their normal LED taillights, and their ultra-bright taillights. The ultra-brights just have more LED in them.

I got a set of the Mustang Project LED taillights for x-mas for my 66. I wanted the normal ultra-brights, but they sent the ultra-bright sequential taillights. I called and talked with their rep, and I don't have to mail back the taillights, just their solid state relay. My normal relays do work with their sequentail taillight, but that makes them blink normal. It's kinda weird to use the solid state flashing relay. It's too quiet.

Check out Mustang Project's website, they have the 230 taillights in both sequential and non-sequentail.

Thanks...I got the correct web page now. I must have "favorited" an old webpage with their early version.

I just bought all LED lighting from MP for my car. I too avoided the sequential tails but opted for the latest and greatest in terms of brightness across the board. I won't be installing mine for sometime but based on the installs I have seen and read about you want to go for the latest and brightest offerings. Their quality seems top notch.

I have the early version of the sequentials in both my cars. I was actually one of the first people to ever order them, and the very first to order them with the late '66 tail light buckets and had to modify it to work (they made a fix for that right after that).

Even the early versions are far brighter than an incandescent bulb. In my '69, I replaced both flashers with the sequential flasher, so even my emergency flashers sequence. This also gives me a spare flasher, as I have had one die on me.
