What about buying a couple leather belts and cutting them to fit?

Later model big cars had them such as Ford LTD's, Caddys. I have been thinking of doing this as my car has not even had arm rest installed in the new door panels. It was a PO thing.

You know those are not pull straps....right? They are straps that keep the door from opening to far and hitting the fender. They mount in the door hinge area of the old trucks.

well, they look cool and should work for my purpose... just have to modify the attachment.

The lady that sits across from me has one of those really expensive purse thingy's, I could cut the straps off it for ya. Never really liked the chic anyway.....
